The Rip Curl Pro Search was created in 2005, when the ASP & Rip Curl joined heads to create a first-of-its-kind Floating License to run an annual World Tournament that would move around the globe & introduce the world’s best surfers to many of the world’s best unknown waves...

The Rip Curl Pro Search is an exciting and innovative development for professional surfing. It’s about finding the best waves in the spirit of The Search, which in turn is all about discovery and freedom.

The Search never ends...

The Search discovered "La Jolla" in 2006 and the entire surfing world watched the webcast in awe as mother nature served up what most say were the best waves a pro contest has ever seen...
